Before me, Matahiwi's Whare nui captured my attention, surrounded by carvings, green paintings and ancestors, many iwi and whanau came to visit. The carvings seemed to flow out of their pictures. The painting shone with a light colour that I had never seen before; its brightness just seemed to stand out.
The carver looked like he could carve anything, even a reticular of me on a piece of wood, from his house, wow.
"I would like to carve pictures like his one day", I said to myself. "I would like to come back one day".
