Amelia / DOC

On Tuesday the 8th, May, week three Amelia from DOC/Department of Conservation came to Clive School,to talk to us about wetlands and habitats for insects, bugs and native birds. We learnt a lot of information such as where native birds live, eat and how long they live for. Did you know that the kingfisher, the birds cousin is the Kookaburra these two birds are endemic which means its only found in one Country and that is New Zealand. The animal we were learning about the most is the long fin and short fin eel. The long fined eel has a longer fin than the short fined eel.The top fin is called the dorsal fin.
